Roger S and Martin Fischer, Whow is Roger, Rog is a friend who rides and I have been on some extended trips 1. Ohio to Mississippi ride,2. Out west ride with big wings back from New Mexico 3. Some that my tired old mind cant remember, and others
well. it was a discussion to get out of the weather so, I took the trailer and the Pickup, loaded both bikes and headed to the south. W wanted to unload where it was warm and figued that NC would be good. I called ahead to the MTN Motorcycle travel Network, and was able to stay in a private de3lux house. It was the home of dave and Fayee Steele. Nice people,
Traveled southt he next day to Wilmington and out on the Island to Ft. Fisher. FF was the Fort garding the entrance to the Cape Fear River, the last open port for blockade runners in and out of the Confederacy. Very interesting National park there and the whole history and picture were there. we spent a few hours there before heading south on 17 to the coast and to Myrtle Beach....A Lot of traffic there, we ended up south in a small motel where we ate seafood in the resturant and drank beer. Next we travelled to Charelston where we went to Ft Sumter on a boat to view what remained of the Fort that was fired on to start the civil war...Impressive, it was. A walk around this beautiful city completed the evening... For those who have never traveled to Charelston, put it on the bucket list...Founded in 1630, incorporated in 1670 it is a treasure chest of delightful history, Mostly distroyed during the CWar, it was rebuilt into splendid homes. Such doorways, windows, porticos, porches gardens....Ahhhh wonderful. Resturants abound as do market stalls and shops from Cartiers to Walgreens If anyone reads this I can say more, let me know
