As in the past years the Black Diamond Beemers presented an award to attendees of the Rally in the Poconos. The categories for the awards were:
1 Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 - Male Solo Rider

2 Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 - Female Solo Rider

3 Oldest Male Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

4 Oldest Female Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

5 Youngest Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

6 Most Club Members in Attendance at the Rally in the Poconos 2009

7 Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 by 2 Up Riders

8 Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 with a Side Car

9 Oldest Motorcycle Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

10  Highest Mileage Motorcycle Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

The winners were presented with our traditional “Black Diamond”.  The award for the category is a beautiful piece of sculptured anthracite coal. The awards were crafted by Frank Magdalinski of  Anthracite Coal Craft, 54 Delaware Ave Plains PA 18705. His art form is rather unique and is a very special kind of “trophy”.
 
This year the winners were:

 Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 - Male Solo Rider

The winner was Peter Maddox. He rode 2500 miles from Paonia Colorado. Peter, who lives in Australia, is on a ride around the continents of the world. 
 

Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 - Female Solo Rider

The winner was Shirley Hackman. She rode 564 miles from Orangeville Ontario. This is Shirley’s 2nd award for this category. She won it last year as well.

 

 Oldest Male Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

The winner was Bill Schellenburger. He rode 135 miles from  Mertztown PA. Bill is 75+. This is Bill’s 2nd award for this category. He won it last year as well.

 

Oldest Female Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

          The winner was Carol Reagon. She rode 126 miles from Marcellus NY. Carol is 71 and 7 months.

 

Youngest Solo Rider to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

          The winner was Carl Boler. Carl is 47 years old.

 

 Most Club Members in Attendance at the Rally in the Poconos 2009

The winners were from the West Chester Beemers Club. Anne Majsak accepted the award for them.

Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 by 2 Up Riders and the

Highest Mileage Motorcycle Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 

 

The winners were Darryl and Terry Cainey. They rode the 308 miles from Fenwick Ontario 2 up  on their 1977 BMW R100RS. The motorcycle has 469,598 mile on it !

 

Longest Distance Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009 with a Side Car

          The winners were Frank and Penny Podswaite. They rode 225 miles from North Haven CT.

 

 Oldest Motorcycle Ridden to the Rally in the Poconos 2009

          The winner was Sam Booth. He rode his 1968 BMW R69S from Akron OH
