Mileage For Moola Winners

The winner of the 1st Miles for Moola Members Only Contest was announced at the Rally in the Poconos 2009 on Saturday 9/26.

First here are a few facts regarding the contest.

It was decided at the September 2009 meeting that there would be 2 additional cash awards. $50 would be awarded to the rider that rode the most miles and $50 would be awarded to the rider that rode the least miles.

15 of our members entered the contest. There were 18 motorcycles entered. Mathaus Atkinson, Moe Barry and Gene VanEssendelft each entered 2.

The contest ran for 92 days from June 1 to September 1, 2009

Total number of miles ridden by the 15 entrants was 70428 or 765.5 miles / day

Al DeFrehn rode the most miles over that period. Al rode 8399 miles on his 2008 Triumph Sprint 1050

Larry Mundro rode the least miles over that period. Larry rode 2082 miles on his 2009 K1300GT.

The average mileage ridden by all entered members was 4695 or 51 miles per day

The rider that rode the number of miles closet to the average of 4695 was Mathaus Atkinson with an average mileage of 4677 (50.8 miles per day.) Mathaus rode both of his K1200RS’s for a combined mileage of just 18 miles less than the average.

This was an easy and fun way to show a benefit of belonging to the Black Diamond Beemers.
Hopefully it will encourage existing members to renew their membership as well as encourage others to join us.
